Phillis serves as the Senior Grants Management for the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation’s On Nigeria program. She is responsible for working directly with the Foundation’s Nigerian grantees to ensure effective and compliant pre- and post-grant administration.
Phillis has more than two decades of experience in philanthropy. Her area of expertise is international grantmaking. During her time with the Foundation, she has managed grants in several countries in Sub-Saharan Africa, Russia, Mexico, and the US. Her work has supported programs such as International Peace and Security, Migration, Human Rights and International Justice, Higher Education in Africa and Russia, and Grants to Individuals for Research, Writing, and Travel.
Prior to joining the Foundation, she was an Administrative Assistant in Research and Development at Sandoz Pharmaceuticals in Chicago.
